    Once upon a time

    Thanks to all of you who left kind words and good wishes. Looking back on my most recent posts, I felt it was time to lighten the mood a bit. For those of you who are having trouble falling asleep tonight, here is a short bed-time fairy tale to help lighten the load from the day.
     

    Once upon a time,

    In a land far away,

    A beautiful, independent,

    Self-assured Princess

    Happened upon a frog as she sat

    Contemplating ecological issues,

    On the shores of unpolluted pond

    In a verdant meadow

    Near her castle.

     

    The frog hopped into the Princess’s lap

    And said, “Elegant Lady,

    I was once a handsome prince,

    Until an evil witch cast a spell on me.

     

    One kiss from you, however,

    And I will turn back

    Into that dapper young Prince that I am,

    And set up housekeeping in yon castle

    With my mother

    Where you can prepare my meals,

    Clean my clothes, bear my children

    And forever feel grateful and happy doing so.”

     

    That night on a repast of lightly

    Sautéed Frog legs

    Seasoned in a white wine sauce,

    She chuckled to herself and thought…..

    “I don’t think so!!!”

    I am in Miami now and will be here until September 5th. I'll tell you how things work out.
     
    I don't see anything wrong with making a home, cleaning, having kids, cooking, washing clothes and enjoying the hell out of it! There's too much misunderstanding about this theme. It's like saying...doing loving tasks with energy sucks. I'd like to elaborate a lot on this one and will do so at another time.
     
    I really liked your blog on Plain Talk and found "Children" very amusing!
    Tomorrow we are filming at what I have been told is a very good restaurante. I'm looking forward to it.

    Hello Jorge...from one gypsy to another...
     
    I just received this in an e-mail from a friend...the world is a very small place.
     
    Today in my clinic, I treated a mom who just had a baby 3 weeks ago.  The wee baby girl came in the room and slumbered away for the entire hour.  While I was helping to relieve the physical stress of labour and nursing for this new mom, baby slept.  When mom stirred, baby stirred.  If baby stretched, mom would perk up and want to make sure that all was well.  I gave a massage but I also gave assurances to both mom and baby as they could not see each other.  "She is fine, she just made a very silly face, opened and closed her hands and went back to sleep"  Or "Mommy is fine, I am just massaging away that sore muscle she got last night when you wanted to nurse for 3 hours..." 
     
    It was so beautiful to observe the connection between mom and newborn from this perspective.  And how perfectly the poem in the previous post illustrates what I experienced in my treatment room this morning...
